By using Plates you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
Plates is pre-release software. Features may change, break, or be removed; content and data may occasionally be reset; and beta access can be modified or revoked at any time. By creating an account you acknowledge you’re testing a work in progress, and you agree that we collect usage analytics and crash reports while you use it (see the Privacy Policy).
You must be at least 13 years old to use Plates.
You keep ownership of the photos and ratings you post. You grant Plates a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content to operate and promote the service — including in feeds, search, and shared links — and to incorporate aggregated, de-identified rating data into our food graph (see the Privacy Policy). We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it to train AI models. Only post photos you took of food you actually had, and only content you have the right to share.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Restaurant information is drawn from public sources (OpenStreetMap) and from users. Verified owners may claim and manage their page. Ratings reflect the opinions of individual users.
Plates may show sponsored posts (for example, a restaurant promoting a dish). These are clearly labeled “Sponsored,” are excluded from organic dish and restaurant scores, and do not constitute an endorsement by Plates.
The Plates app, name, brand, design, code, features, and product concepts are the exclusive property of Plates and its founder. Beta access gives you no rights to any of it. If you share feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Plates, you agree we may use them freely — in the product or otherwise — with no payment, attribution, or other obligation to you. (Your dish photos and reviews stay yours, as described above.)
Plates is provided “as is,” without warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app.
We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
